  22. Well, earlier I stated that strstrk didn't work with dcdesktop
  23. and wondered whether or not an acc that caused dcdesktop not
  24. to boot could be added to the acc list later using DC's
  25. Stuffer---well, in fact it can!  While listing strstrk on my
  26. disk with an .acc extender caused an infinite reboot, I was
  27. able to change the extender to .acx, have it not interfere
  28. with the system boot, and then install it via DC Stuffer...and
  29. it works.

  41. Does anyone have the instructions for this emulator. I got it when
  42. I bought my SLM804 and sort of got it working but there are some
  43. weird things about it. Why can you create a config. with more then
  44. one printer font in it when you can only use the first font in the
  45. config. list - perhaps its possible to change font (which would be
  46. very nice). Does anyone know anything about this?
  47. While I'm asking for documentation does anyone have any on the SLM
  48. itself? I'd be really interested in knowing how to control the beast.

  60. Boy, is my face red!  For months I've been laboring under the impression
  61. that the GFA Basic 3.0 interpreter and compiler produced incompatible
  62. Date$ formats (05/03/1990 vs 03.05.1990).  Well actually, they do, but
  63. it isn't really a bug so much as a different default which can easily
  64. be corrected!!!

  66. To get the 05/03/1990 date$ to appear in both the intepreter AND
  67. compiler, simpy insert a MODE 1 command.  See the MODE command in
  68. the manual for more discussion.

  84. I've just purchased a ICD based hard disk from Third Coast Technolgies -
  85. a copy who I would not recommend. Their customer service is one of the
  86. worst I've seen. Still back to the hard disk questions.
  87. i) does anyone know of any documents, books, whatever on hard disks ?
  88. ii) I have a Triangle hard disk and would like to install it in the
  89. ICD one. I was told by TCT that this should be possible. I would need
  90. their cable kit, which I bought. No surprisingly there are no instructions
  91. about how to do this. Can anyone help as I know little (OK nothing)
  92. about hard disks.

  111. OS-9/68K isn't that cheap (about 1500 Swiss Francs), but compare with any
  112. other OS available for the ST:

  114. - real-time
  115. - multi-tasking
  116. - multi-user capalities
  117. - C development package
  118. - Sculptor 4-th generation database
  119. - Spread sheet and Wordprocessor
  120. - A whole bunch of utilities
  121. - UUCP and many other software packages are PD and absolutely free!

  123. So it's definitely worth its price - I think it's better to pay for it
  124. than to get a buggy and malfunctional so-called operating system like
  125. TOS intends to be...

  144. I have just unpacked my new 1040 Ste and am having a quick explore. Having
  145. downloaded the DC Desk Demo I naturally tried the GEM autobooting facility.
  146. However I can only seem to get one program to autoboot, even if I install
  147. more than one only the last one installed appears in the DESKTOP.INF file.
  148. Can anybody shed any light on this problem.

  167. I've been using Uniterm for a long time now and am really impressed.
  168. Its a great program. I've just started to use the function key macros
  169. and one thing has me bemused. I can't have the % symbol in the macro
  170. string. If there is a %, it and the remainder of the string after it
  171. are not printed ie.
  172. my string     send info-atari16@edu.stanford.score@earn-relay   comes out
  173. as            send info-atari16
  174. Any help appreciated.

  186. I recently acquired a USED 1040ST, with WordWriter and a Panasonic KX-P1091.
  187. I tried printing a test WordWriter file with superscript, etc. in NLQ mode.
  188. I don't have docs for the printer, and I can't seem to find anything in the
  189. WordWriter manual to help me.  Can I do bold, and super/subscript in
  190. the Panasonic's NLQ mode?  (p.s. it works with draft mode.)
